Tesamorelin
Product Overview
Tesamorelin is a synthetic peptide consisting of the 44-amino acid sequence of human Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) with a 3-hexenoic acid group attached to the N-terminal tyrosine residue. This modification significantly increases its stability and resistance to enzymatic degradation by dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-IV) compared to native GHRH.
In laboratory settings, Tesamorelin is utilized to study the regulation of the somatotropic axis and its impact on endogenous growth hormone secretion.
Research Applications
Pituitary Signaling: Investigation of the binding affinity and potency of modified GHRH analogs on pituitary somatotrophs.
Metabolic Proteomics: Study of the peptide's influence on lipid metabolism and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels in animal models.
Neurocognitive Research: Exploring the potential relationship between GHRH analogs and cognitive markers in specialized research environments.
Stability Analysis: Comparative studies between N-terminal modified peptides and native sequences regarding metabolic half-life.
